We bought this for our 4 year old son for Christmas. Even though he is still a bit too young to build it (he helps with the mini-figures and the vehicles), he has had a lot of fun playing with the set.

It took me about 5 hours to build the whole set - not in ideal conditions, as my son wanted to play with the section that I was building whilst I was still in the middle of the build process!!

He loves all of the details; the garage doors that open; the moving jail doors; the escape hatch by the toilets and the hidden cavity in the beds to name but a few ...

I love the fact that this set is built on a sturdy base and whilst some of the antennae on top of the building have been knocked off, we haven't had to do any major rebuilding even after our over-excited 4 year old has been playing with it (still standing almost 2 weeks after it was built).

The one thing that I would point out is that even though there is a helipad on top of the Police station, you don't get a helicopter in this set which seems a little odd. We were able to just use a helicopter from other sets that we've got but I can imagine some children being disappointed by this.

A lovely Lego product and highly recommended.

We bought this for our 5 year old for christmas last year. The clear and easy to follow instructions meant that this was easy and quick to assemble.

Our son loves this product and this is the reason he now loves the lego city collection.

Comes with a good range of accessories and the little extra sets you can buy means he hasn't had to spend long saving his weekly pocket money to buy more figures/cars/bikes etc to develop his games.

I got this for Xmas and I just love I have made the base longer to fit all the cars/trucks in and made a second helicopter pad but then when my dad droped it it fell in half and it looks a lot better because you have the cells and garages and then the command side also extended the dog cenals so it is big rating 100/100

My five year old son has just started getting into Lego and already has a fantastic little collection. He really loves this Station. My husband didn't find it too tricky to build either which is a bonus. Great toy!

I bought this for my five year old son and I can honestly say it is worth every penny. Not only did he enjoy taking part in the building process (obviously he had help), but he has played with it non-stop since.

You can build the Police Station in four key stages. The patrol car, the prisoner transport, the jail block, the police offices. Instructions are clear and precise, easy for children and adults alike to follow. All the pieces are provided in numbered bags so they are easy to find and you can build them at your own pace without worrying you will lose pieces if you want a break before you start the next stage.

The whole building has several ingenious moving parts; slide-opening cell doors, escape hatches in the jail cells and roll-down shutters on the vehicle stations. The office block also has lots of brilliant little details, such as a mug-shot area, computer desk, stolen money and jewel, TV monitoring station and reception desk etc. There's also a kennel area for the police dogs (we have two, the one that came with the station and the one that came with the dog untit vehicle LEGO City 7285: Police Dog Unit)

My son has spent hours and hours playing with this set. He's built a garage to repair police vehicles with his other Lego bricks and he's used other Lego figures from the mini series and Ninjago sets as 'bad guys', keeping his cells full. It is a timeless and engaging toy that is played with everyday.

It's also great to exercise for his imagination, played with in conjunction with the 'Spot the Crook' book. Spot the Crook: A Search and Find Book (Lego City) You can recognise all the Lego City playsets and characters which are illustrated in the book. It's brilliant how it all fits together.

A fantastic investment!

As a huge fan of Lego I bought this for my son for christmas and have to say it's better than it looks.
As always with Lego toys it's instructions are straight foward and easy to follow but the attention to detail in this one was amazing.
He loved the little toilets and also the little police dog section complete with his bowl.
We also got him the Lego airport but would have to say if you're trying to decide between the two then I'd buy the police station.The building is far superior to the airport and also the vehicles are much better.
It's quite a large set but is quite sturdy on it's base so can be moved without much worry of bits dropping off.

I bought this for my 11yr old daughter, wasn't sure if she was too old for it but it was on her xmas list so I took the risk after reading the reviews on here, thinking that there are a couple of younger nephews it can go to if it became a 2 week-wonder. However, I had as much fun building it with her as she is now having playing with the completed item (in fact it's even overtaken the much longed-for smartphone she got from her Dad!) The box it comes in suggests it's bigger than the finished item but the detail is amazing and the step-by-step instructions are very easy to follow. I was slightly dismayed at first to see lots of items custom made (staircase, prison bars, etc.) - when we were kids half the fun of lego was improvising and a bit of imagination to make windows & staircases out of standard bricks! but once I got over this (and remembered also the frustration of having a staircase 10x bigger than the house it was meant for... ;-) I was fascinated by the attention to detail - as a police employee I'm quite familiar with the inside of a police station & this is as realistic as it could be. I have to admit I'm glad I didn't pay the full price, I'm not sure it's worth it... I found it about £20 cheaper from a major supermarket and used their loyalty vouchers leaving £20 final payment - well worth it at that price! My daughter is now looking for more police items to add (such as the helicopter, which isn't included despite the helipad on the roof) and possibly the hospital as our next project. I think we're going to have a couple more years fun with this before she (or I...) will allow it to be handed down!
