This was bought for my 4 year old son and he loves it. It is really easy to use and he can navigate through the apps, games and books he has on his. He is learning off this through play, which I find is the best way kids learn. I also love that you can connect it to your computer and see your child's progress and what they have learned and what they spend their time on. There is several things you can do with this leap pad, my son loves to create his own stories on this about what he wants to be when he grows up and he loves taking pictures and videos, he also loves the pet pal that was on it and the e-book he got with it. 5.0 out of 5 stars Kids Greatest gift, 18 Jan 2013

We have recently purchased the Leappad 2 for my daughter, good product but old technology! Battery Life is useless ! 2 hours of play after buying 4 duracell batteries. so i invested in a charger with 4 batteries, which spend more time in the charger than in the product! very disapointed....i'm taking them back tommorow! 5.0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old loves this!!!, 8 Jan 2013

I feel like such a fool for buying this for my daughter when i seen it had over 150 apps i thought GREAT read the reviews and everything on it and most were good so i got it for her. Open it christmas day and start to set it up for her only to realise you have to buy the games... was looking through the descriptions today and it actually does not state nothing on the purchasing side of things. I then went into argos to get her this download pack where it says 50+ downloads and thought il get her that read the description yet again no info on having to buy the games so i pressumed u get the 50+ downloads. my friend walks in and tells me she got this for her kid and all it is is £15 worth of credit and not the 50+ downloads as advertised. I think this is one of the biggest money traps iv ever fell into and so gutted for my little girl even more so that it was her main present. and to top it off the decent games are majorly over priced. why an earth would u go out and spend £20 odd on a game for a 6 year old its a it extreme i think personally. would of rathered of upgraded her ds. Word of advise DO NOT GET THIS 5.0 out of 5 stars Leap pad Explorer is brilliant!!!, 31 Dec 2012

I brought my two girls one each for Christmas. It is easy to use and has lots of things to keep them occupied.I let them choose some books to download. They both decided on 4 the same. I brought and downloaded them onto the first leap pad, really easy. I went to buy and download them onto the second leap pad. A message appeared which said I didn't need to re buy for each leap pad, once purchased I could download them onto any compatible devise. I was really impressed, thought it was going to cost me a fortune
I would definatley recommend the explorer, I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and they both love it. The pad can be set for their age so the games are easier / harder dependant on their level of learning
