Presented in a luxury black, faux leather case with white stitching, each game contains finest quality pieces and makes an ideal gift for both the novice and serious games player. They come in attractive metallic silver packaging and include comprehensive rules. This deluxe set contains 3 inch carved 'Staunton' style chess pieces made of Kariwood and Boxwood, each with weighted and felted bases and presented in cloth drawstring pouches. Board with 40mm squares inlaid with walnut and maple.
Board measures 34.5cm x 34.5cm x 1cm. Ages 8+.

Its a chess set, not much more to say. The pieces feel substantial and the board and case are practical without being fiddly. I like it it is very good.My one complaint would be on the standard of the quality control, one of the knight's manes was chipped and I had to tighten some of the screws in the board's folding mechanism to stop it wobbling about.
Still, all said I would probably buy this product again.

Beautiful, quality chess board and nice, weighty pieces, too; all amounting to a real joy to play what is undoubtedly the greatest board-game - ever!The black, leatherette type case is a nice touch; and has three compartments, one isn't really needed but may come in handy for something. The board itself fold up and fits snugly inside the case over the compartments. The chess pieces come in two black cloth bags.
Lovely product, and one I highly recommend.

Wooden Chess set with 3" KingSadly, as experienced by another buyer, an otherwise well manufactured 'toy' was spoiled by poor quality control. In my case the board was conspicuously damaged on the edge and top inlay border. This item was a lifetime gift to a grandchild to remember his grandparents and should have been perfect. The damage is immediately seen when then game is set up...very disappointing for the givers.Terry Clarke
