I ordered this expecting a wooden dolls house. Whilst it is pretty and nicely decorated it is not wood, pressed particle board decorated with transfers which I consider to be stretching the definition of 'wooden' to say the least.If my three year old had not seen it I would be returning it. My daughter loves it and I am sure that she will play with it for years but it is not wood. Some of the paintwork has very minor chips straight out of the box, it will be interesting to see how it holds up to play although I did read other reviews (other Le Toy Van dolls house models) which claimed durability.
To summarise, happy child, disappointed parents.

My daughter got this dollhouse for her christening. She is now 5 and she plays with it every day. It's beautiful decorated, and theres plenty of space inside it. When she's not playing with it it stands as a beautiful decoration in her room. Though the delicate design it seems pretty robust and it's not easily broken. When she grows up it will make a beautiful CD-container. So actually this dollhouse can follow her through her whole life. A great buy! Dolls House, By

I bought this Dolls house for my 2 year old Grandaughter, she loves it. Construction was straight forward. I found laying out the bits and taking a minute to look at the limited instructions before putting screws in the 2 front panels, making sure you put them in the correct corners. There is a dowel at the back which pushes in under the floor which is loose and needs padded out or it would just fall out , compared to the rest of the house this is not satisfactory. I am pleased with the look and opening windows and shutters and door. The house is quite sturdy and will give years of fun. Overall pleased with purchase.
