My 8 year old is new to Meccano and has been slowly getting to grips with this. He needs a lot of support to put it together, but I'm sure he will get the hang of it eventually. It's a good quality toy, just a bit fiddly at first. Like everything worthwhile in life, it requires determination and practice.

Arrived speedily, well, packaged and just what I expected. Well made product, challenging assembly, as lots of small parts but clear instructions and includes all required tools.

We didn,t even get a chance to build this toy as Amazon sent us a damaged box that had been opened and stuck back together with tape. They eventually agreed to send me a label s that the order could be sent back, but by that time, the product was out of stock. We tried in vain to locate it elsewhere, and ended up having to find a last minute alternative. Amazon were completely unsympathetic to the fact that Santa doesn't bring damaged toys, and instead wanted to offer me £5 to replace the original packaging. They clearly are lacking in any kind of quality control as that item should never have been sent out to a customer. I have ordered from Amazon in the past, and been impressed, but this time they let me down badly!
