Fantastic value for money. My 12 month old absolutely loves it!! Sits on it for ages just going round the track. Not too slow, not too fast, just right! Track is very big, so i shortened it as much as i could, which i didn't mind, now its up all the time. Recommend this to all parents :-)

Easy to charge, mind connect the cables inside thomas, create the track and let them go. Got stuck on nothing a few times but never an issue. Quite loud, but unbelievably you get used to it.

Having purchased this item for my godson for Christmas, I have just been to see the assembled train and his reactions to it. It does take up quite a lot of space but it keeps him happy and amused and although he isn't yet 2 years old, he has mastered the controls exceptionally quickly. The speed of the train took me by surprise and the sounds the train makes are very good. It may seem a fairly costly item but compared some toys(eg one dimensional rockers) it is quite cheap.

I bought this item for my son who is 2. He enjoyed it but it goes so very slowly that I thought at first I had not fully charged it! Also the track broke the 2nd time we used it and now I am having trouble trying to locate additional track so that my son can still use it. Also expensive for what it is. Having said that my son loves it :)

My wife and I purchased this item for our sons first birthday with the intention of buying additional sections of track in order to build large tracks around the house or garden (during the summer months) for him to ride around on. Even at that age however, the engine moved so slowly that he immediately got bored of waiting for the movement and proceeded to get off the engine and push it around the track in order to speed things up a little. Most importantly however, due to a major design error with this product, the turning circle of the train is larger than the track, meaning that it is unable to navigate unaided around the corner sections, and two of these corner sections joined together (as pictured on some of the extra track section boxes) is simply impossible to navigate and subsequently results in complete stoppage of the train. Another simple (but obvious and avoidable design error) is that the accompanying trailer hook mounting is situated too low, subsequently resulting in the front two trailer wheels being completely independent from the track. In saying all of the above however, even after a year, our son still loves to sit on the engine, stand and dance to the controller tunes and really enjoys getting the tracks sections out, even if they are only used to push the train along them. It should also be noted that the battery on this item is simply outstanding! Although the toy may not be played with on a daily basis, it was last charged on our sons birthday (in January) and is still (nearly in December) going strong. As for educational uses, although probably unintended by the obviously lazy and/or incompetent designers of this product, we are however finding the red, blue and green colour sections of track useful in aiding simple colour recognition. In summary, the product has been extremely badly designed, is slow to move and even when it does, will not navigate the corner sections. Despite these `adult' faults, it has still provided many hours of enjoyment, even if it has only been nothing more than a push along train with added sound effects!
